What’s it all about?

A writer contemplates the world; it's a time of prosperity. Nevertheless, he sees the collapse of nature, the general alienation, the moneygrubbing. Where did our authentic objectives go? This book initiates a dialogue with the reader. Time passes, then suddenly an unpreceded depression brings Greece to its knees. The writer is still writing this book: have his thoughts become obsolete? Or, to the contrary, more relevant than ever? To understand what is happening today we must go way back... This recession, this crisis, is not only financial, it is radically anthropological... We need to rethink the ways of the world and the words that define them: isn't this the role of literature? We should retrieve the lost meaning of the word "economy" in a time when the "ecos" (home) has become the whole globe - "ecumenical" - and its law has become sheer pandemonium. If we answer this, we might better understand what the objective of the modern Greek, as well as modern man, should be.
