The Book-Mouse lives in a school and is no ordinary mouse, mind you! He likes reading books then eating them afterwards. That’s until he met Tita Gruyere and because she asked him, he never munched on a book again. We listen to him talking about books to the cats in the classroom, his meeting with the librarian, Tita Gruyere, then we find him setting the Christmas dinner table and next we follow him on his travels to children’s best-loved fairy tales. There are some strange goings-on in the library. Ms Tita Gruyere is trying to shed some light on the mystery, while Mr Book-Mouse is playing hear no evil, see no evil. Until one night, Tita sees princes, fairies, knights and witches dancing and reading in the library! What on earth is going on?

Vagelis Iliopoulos

Vagelis Iliopoulos was born in Athens in 1964. He studied Pedagogics and Theology at the University of Athens. He has been working in the primary school field since 1984. He has written numerous books for children and young adults and has received many awards. His books have been translated in several languages (Italian, German, Catalan, English, Turkish, Korean, Chinese, Serbian). He lives in Athens with his wife and two children.

Four picture books illustrated by Effie Lada have just been published by the Chinese publisher Shanghai 99 Culture Consulting CO.! Three stories based on traditional tales, "Teardrop's Feat", "The Tower Manuscripts" and "Mary and the Sugarplum Man" by author Athina Biniou, and "The Birthday of the Infanta", Oscar Wilde's story retold by the illustrator.
