Calling all restless princesses! Discover a brave new series, which reminds us that a true princess is not fulfilled by ball gowns or talking frogs or waiting around for a prince. Princess Athena is creative, intelligent, courageous , and self-reliant all of which make her a great leader. She is a princess for the modern age.
Princess Athena doubts outdated stereotypes and encourages little women of 7 and older to express themselves, to feed their curiosity by trying new things, and to persevere.
Stella Kasdagli started off as a translator but then turned to journalism. She studied French Literature in Athens and Communications in London. She spent several years working as a Senior Editor at Cosmopolitan magazine, while concurrently working with other Greek and English-speaking publications and websites. Currently, she works as a translator of foreign literature, she writes about things that should be discussed more often, and advocates for language as a tool of empowerment for women and teenagers. She is also a co-founder of “Women on Top,” “Mentorkids,” and the online book club called, “Bookworm.” She regularly delivers lectures and holds seminars on blogging, social media, and professional development for teenagers and adults. Her books Belly.com, I Just Wanted To Fit In, as well as the entire Princess Athena series, have been published by Patakis Publishers. She lives in Athens with her two daughters whom she learns from and grows alongside.
Tomek Giovanisis an illustrator and comic artist. He was born in Poland and graduated from the Fine Arts School (TEI) of Athens, specializing in animation. He created the comic book Oh My God!!!, the series of comics Koulouri (both Jemma Press) and the fanzine HEHE!. He illustrated the prize-winning (EBGE 2016) novel, …Αnd He Created Him From His Own Image, by Myrto Georgiou-Nielsen (Editions Synergie). His work has been displayed in exhibitions within and outside Greece, and has been recognized by EBGE Awards, Comicdom Awards and in various international contests. He is a founding member of the comics team called, “The Very Closed Circle” and he often collaborates with organizations to deliver lectures and organize workshops for children and young adults. Through Patakis Publishers, he has also illustrated the awarded work The Wedding of King Half-Pint and Mr. Purr.
