Children at the age of three to four draw shapes that look like letters and they often read them as if they were words. Even at this early age, kids today are overwhelmed by screens and keyboards, but the act of learning how to write remains quite important in order for them to be able to read and communicate with the world. This high quality activity book offers children the chance to familiarize themselves with identifying letters and sounds, to color in a specific space, to play with letters and images and – in general – enjoy a creative first contact with the Greek alphabet.

AUTHOR

Renia Metallinou

Renia Metallinou is an illustrator and graphic designer. She was born in the Greek island Corfu and she now lives in a small town outside of Athens, along with her husband and their family. She graduated from AKTO College (Athenian Art and Design College) in 2001 with a BA in Graphic Design. In 2007 she studied fashion design with a two-year scholarship. She has worked in several magazines and newspapers – Lucky, In Style, Homme, Eleftheros Typos. Since 2013 she has been working as a freelance illustrator and designer. Her work consists of digital and other traditional materials.

New Chinese editions for our picture books!

Four picture books illustrated by Effie Lada have just been published by the Chinese publisher Shanghai 99 Culture Consulting CO.! Three stories based on traditional tales, "Teardrop's Feat", "The Tower Manuscripts" and "Mary and the Sugarplum Man" by author Athina Biniou, and "The Birthday of the Infanta", Oscar Wilde's story retold by the illustrator.
