One winter evening, when thunderclaps are rattling the windows and heavy snowflakes whirl wildly in the air, the strangest and most charming little creature in the world seeks refuge in Dorinda’s room. His name is Gudun, and you never saw a more unusual little animal; for he has no tail and only one big ear. When Dorinda hides him in her pillowcase, she saves him from his deadliest enemy, the Gudungobbler. She feeds her new friend on cough drops and Gudun decides to stay with her for ever. Thus begins a series of wonderful adventures in forests of enchanted lilacs, mountains made of cinnamon and caverns deep beneath the sea.

Evgenios Trivizas

Evgenios Trivizas is a lawyer, a graduate of the Law School at the University of Athens, with a Master of Laws (University College) and a PhD in Law by the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Senior Research Fellow of the University of London. He teaches Criminology and Comparative Criminal Law at the Reading University and he is also the Director for Criminal Justice Studies there. He has also taught at the Bramshill Police College, The Central London Polytechnic and the London School of Economics. Since 1993 to 1998 he’s been a lecturer of Criminology at the Panteio University of Athens. He has written over a hundred books for children, just the one book for adults, and over twenty theatrical plays. He has received numerous awards and great acclaim for his work: Awards by the Greek section of IBBY, the Parents Choice Amazing Accomplishment Award, the Shefficedls children’s Book Award Commendation, the Massachussets Children’s Choice Award, and many more.

Three stories based on traditional tales, "Teardrop's Feat", "The Tower Manuscripts" and "Mary and the Sugarplum Man" by author Athina Biniou, and "The Birthday of the Infanta", Oscar Wilde's story retold by the illustrator.
