The Santa Files ENG (synopsis)

Not too long before the Christmas holidays, Max Marillo, a private detective specializing in paranormal phenomena, receives a mysterious letter from an organization he has never heard of before called CHIPPO. In his attempt to discover more clues about the organization, he realizes that the initials stand for Christmas Holiday International Propaganda Promotion Organization, that all the members are involved in activities concerning the Christmas holidays and they have the names of Santa’s eight reindeer: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen. Yet he is not able to find out anything more about the organization.

Philippos Mandilaras

Philippos Mandilaras was born in Athens, in 1965. He has been working on children’s and young adult books since 1997 as a writer, a translator, an editor, and a professional reader. He has written many books for younger and older children, one fantasy novel (Niki or what appears and what is), a short story collection for young people (Bananafish) and three contemporary novels for young adults that comprise “The Street trilogy” (Somewhere to Belong, Hyenas, The Elevator Life). For this last one he has been awarded with the State Prize for Young Adult Fiction 2012. He lives in Chios, across the Asian shores.

New Chinese editions for our picture books!

Four picture books illustrated by Effie Lada have just been published by the Chinese publisher Shanghai 99 Culture Consulting CO.! Three stories based on traditional tales, "Teardrop's Feat", "The Tower Manuscripts" and "Mary and the Sugarplum Man" by author Athina Biniou, and "The Birthday of the Infanta", Oscar Wilde's story retold by the illustrator.
