May Your Name Be Blessed

Sotiris Dimitriou was born in 1955 in Northwestern Greece. He has published a book of poetry, five collections of short stories, «Dialith’im Christaki» (1989), «A Child from Thessalonica» (1989), «The Vein in the Neck» (1998), «The Lingering of Goodness» (2001), «The Scales of the Face» (2009), the novella «The Silence of the Fodder» (2011) and three novels, «May Your Name Be Blessed» (1993), «Inspired by God» (2002) and «Athens Trees» (2006). His short stories have been made into movies, translated and included in anthologies. His novel «May Your Name Be Blessed» was published in English (2000) by the University of Birmingham Press, translated by Leo Marshall who was honoured for this translation with the TLS translation Prize. His novel «Athens Trees» was made into a movie in 2010 by the renowned director Nikos Panayotopoulos.
