The Wooden Doll

Maria Lyratzi was born in 1967 in Athens, where she lived her childhood and adolescent years. She studied at the Athens University of Chemistry. In 1996 she began her study in the department of “Maintainance on works of art and antiquities”, which she also graduated. In June 1999 her first book was published, “Smaragdenia and other fairy tales”, from Patakis Publications, illustrated by Dimitri Sebastaki. In April 2000 the book was honoured with praise from the Circle of Greek Children's Book.
