Gudun feels miserable because he only has one ear. But for every problem a solution can be found. Dorinda and Gudun fly off in their magic flying colander to the shores of the island of fire - works, where a mermaid helps them retrieve a sky-blue clamshell shining on the seabed. It makes a perfect ear. But before long Gudun is complaining once again, this time because he has no tail. And so a new journey begins, and this time the destination is the island of carnivals, where the two friends hope to find three streamers and weave them into a wonderful tail.

Evgenios Trivizas

Evgenios Trivizas is a lawyer, a graduate of the Law School at the University of Athens, with a Master of Laws (University College) and a PhD in Law by the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Senior Research Fellow of the University of London. He teaches Criminology and Comparative Criminal Law at the Reading University and he is also the Director for Criminal Justice Studies there. He has also taught at the Bramshill Police College, The Central London Polytechnic and the London School of Economics. Since 1993 to 1998 he’s been a lecturer of Criminology at the Panteio University of Athens. He has written over a hundred books for children, just the one book for adults, and over twenty theatrical plays. He has received numerous awards and great acclaim for his work: Awards by the Greek section of IBBY, the Parents Choice Amazing Accomplishment Award, the Shefficedls children’s Book Award Commendation, the Massachussets Children’s Choice Award, and many more.

Four picture books illustrated by Effie Lada have just been published by the Chinese publisher Shanghai 99 Culture Consulting CO.! Three stories based on traditional tales, "Teardrop's Feat", "The Tower Manuscripts" and "Mary and the Sugarplum Man" by author Athina Biniou, and "The Birthday of the Infanta", Oscar Wilde's story retold by the illustrator.
