Inxor is Coming!

Amanda Michalopoulou was born in Athens, in 1966. She studied French Literature at the University of Athens and journalism in Paris, at the CFPJ. Since 1990 she has been working as a columnist in the daily Greek newspaper Kathimerini. In 1994 she published her first short stories collection “Life in colorful outside”. One of these stories represented Greece in the “Lisbon Biennale for European Creators”. Another story was awarded a first short story prize by the literary magazine “Revmata”. She won a major literary prize in 1997 for her bestselling first novel “Yandes (Wishbone memories)”, written during a residency grant in Wiepersdorf, Berlin. She has also published the novels “As often as you can bear it” (Kastaniotis Publishers 1998), and “Bad Weather” (Kastaniotis 2001). She published children’s books also: “The flying house” (Ammos Publishers) and the series “Family Gallery” about contemporary art and contemporary family life (Patakis Publishers, 2000). Her books are published in German by Rotbuch Verlag and in Italian by Crocetti. Her short stories are translated in English, German, Italian, Serbian and Czech.
